Who are we?
CROSSGATES METHODIST CHURCH officially began on January 1, 2025, following a year-long discernment process to explore the path that God was leading the Church. After a language change in the United Methodist Church Book of Discipline was adopted by the 2024 General Conference concerning human sexuality, the members of Crossgates United Methodist Church ultimately in a Church-wide vote on October 20 elected to exit the United Methodist Church by an 87 percent majority by the end of 2024. Completing this task in 72 days was a monumental task that was accomplished by the Grace of God. All members of the new Church were required to join CMC in January 2025, giving Crossgates Methodist Church truly a new beginning with all its members working together to build the Church worshipping
at 23 Crossgates Drive back to a Church that lives up to its Mission Statement that says that we are
“A Christian Community growing in love of God and neighbor
through worship, study, and service.”
